LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed therapy
Hello, I’m Nassos Theodor (he/they).
I offer LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive counselling and psychotherapy for adults, face-to-face in Exeter, UK, and online wherever you are.
No matter what you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.

How I work
I work with people navigating a wide range of experiences, from trauma, questioning their sexuality or gender identity, to anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. My approach is integrative, which means I draw on multiple therapeutic modalities — including person-centred, existentialism, psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems — and adapt them to suit your individual needs. As a therapist, I am not going to give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I will do my best to be present with you, to hear you, and to walk alongside you as you move towards greater awareness of who you are, what has led you to this moment, and where you want to go from here.

Trauma-Informed Therapy
Trauma-informed practice means I understand how trauma affects the mind and body, and I work in a way that prioritises safety, choice, and collaboration at every step.

LGBTQ+ Affirming, trans healthcare-informed Support
Creating a safe space where your identity is respected and embraced. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, with both professional and lived experience of Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity.

Anti-Oppressive Practice
My work acknowledges clients’ social, political, and cultural contexts as inseparable from internal suffering. I strive towards equality both within and outside the counselling room, and seek to empowering you through inclusive, respectful, and socially-aware therapy.
Who I work with
Among the diversity of people that have trusted me with their stories are transgender people, immigrants, academics, artists, survivors of childhood trauma, and more. I find this work immensely rewarding, in part because I bring both professional training and lived experience to my practice. Whether or not you belong to any of the categories below — whoever you are, however you identify, and whatever has happened to you — you are welcome here.
Trans and gender-diverse people
I offer therapy that doesn’t require you to educate your therapist first. Whether you’re exploring your identity or are further along in transition, or you’re dealing with something entirely unrelated to being trans but tired of it becoming the subject anyway, I bring both clinical competence and lived understanding to our work together.
Immigrants
Displacement, dual belonging, family expectation across distance, the particular grief of leaving somewhere and the particular strain of arriving somewhere else — these carry their own emotional weight, distinct from (though sometimes intertwined with) other kinds of trauma.
Academics & Artists
The pressures of academic life — precarity, perfectionism, isolation, the blurred line between identity and output — often go unnamed as sources of real psychological strain. I understand this world from the inside. I also know that creative work rarely stays separate from inner life. I work with artists on the specific tangle of identity, vulnerability, and livelihood that creative practice can involve.
People exploring sexuality and relationship diversity
I am sex-positive, kink-aware, and versed in the worlds of polyamory, relationship anarchism, ethical non-monogamy, etc. Together, we can explore both the emotional challenges and joys of your experience in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space.
Trauma and abuse survivors
This work is slow, non-linear, and deeply personal. I support survivors of trauma and abuse in its many forms, including childhood abuse, to understand what happened, how it shaped them, and how to build a present and future that isn’t dictated by it — always at a pace that feels safe.
Many of us hold more than one of these experiences at once — a queer academic, a trans immigrant, an artist processing childhood trauma. You don’t need to fit neatly into one category — or in any category at all — for us to work together in a way that makes sense to you.

FAQs
In-person sessions are in central Exeter, UK. Online sessions take place via video call. Instant messaging via an encrypted service is also an option.
An initial chat
I offer an initial 30’ consultation online free of charge. There is no pressure and no commitment required after this first meeting. I firmly believe that one of the most healing elements of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. This is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what’s brought you to therapy, and explore whether we’re a good fit.
Individual sessions
The fee for each session is £60.
Sessions last 50 minutes, unless we agree otherwise.
Most people benefit from the consistency of meeting weekly, but the frequency can be adjusted to suit your needs.
Confidentiality is at the heart of what makes therapy safe. Everything you share is confidential, with a small number of exceptions (e.g. if there is a risk to your safety or others’). I will explain this fully at the start of our work together.
Accessibility
If you need accommodations, please do not hesitate to talk to me.
I also hold a small number of reduced-rate spaces for those who need them. Please get in touch if cost is a barrier.
I can work with clients residing anywhere in the UK and Europe under certain conditions. I’m afraid I cannot work with clients based in the United States of America. If you are based elsewhere and would like to explore the possibility of working with me, please enquire.
Languages spoken: English, Greek.
